Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) is the entrance test for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTI), Institutions funded by participating State Governments, and other Institutions. Students aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programs offered by the IITs will have to take JEE (Advanced). The Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced) and students can take JEE (Advanced) only after qualifying the Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.) of JEE (Main).

This year i.e. 2019 for the first time NTA will be conducting JEE (Main). National Testing Agency (NTA) is established as an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI). The objective of NTA is for conducting efficient, transparent and international standards tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admissions to premier higher education institutions. This year i.e. 2019 for the first time JEE (Main)-2019 will be conducted twice. This will give students one more opportunity to the students to improve their scores in examination if they fail to give their best in first attempt without wasting their whole academic year.

The first attempt of JEE (Main) – 2019 will be held in January, 2019 whereas the second attempt will be held in April, 2019. The test will be held on different shifts/dates in both the attempts. The NTA has released the application form of JEE (Main)-2019 for the first attempt in September, 2018 and for the second attempt it will release in February, 2019. The result of the first attempt of JEE (Main)-2019 will be declared by 31st January, 2019 and for the second attempt by 30th April, 2019.

Candidates can apply for JEE Main - 2019 only through online mode. The Application Form other than online mode will not be accepted, in any case.
